Looking back to the first post, I wrote the reasons why the effective communication skills are important as the essentiality of them to achieve my own goals. And I stated three examples.
Although basically I haven’t changed the idea, I have clearer image about it now than at the start point of this module.
As I wrote in a version of my bio-data, ultimately I would like to enjoy my life as much as possible through the interaction with diverse people, struggling to change what I don’t like in the world. To achieve it, I think I have to recognize that every single moment have something to do with communication in that we cannot live without others. For example, to get along well with roommates by spontaneous routine cleaning, to convey the order to the gaffer in food court near my house and so forth.
As such, what I learned in this module was really meaningful. Although actually I may have unconsciously recognized most of the knowledge about the effective communication, through the classes using skill builders and sharing opinions/experiences with other students, I identified them consciously and practically in greater detail. That is the fruits of all the effort in this module for me.
However, one thing that I would like to warn myself is, to have knowledge is one thing and to apply it in real life is another. In fact, unlike in this module, I could not get along well with group members of another research work. Maybe it was easy to have good communication in this module because all the classmates have high consciousness in effective communication during this class. This class will end soon but the chances to apply the experiences in this module take place here and there all the time. Thus, from now on, it is really important for me to keep the high recognition in effective communication until I can acquire true skills.
Lastly, I thank the lecturer, Ms. Fiona Richardson, who guided us to the goal of this module as well as all the classmates, who gave me the valuable opinions to me.

Well, I think that effective communication only gets you so far when doing group projects. After all, it takes two hands to clap, and if you are the only one who takes the effort to try to communicate clearly and effectively whilst the rest do not, then there would still be communication problems.
But, I do agree, that what we have learnt here in this module is valuable and applicable in everyday life.
Dear Kazu,
I agree with you that to have knowledge is one thing and to apply it in real life is another. Your thought coincides with me. I often ask myself, “Is the knowledge learned in school applicable to the REAL world?” I believe you have to find your own connections.
And lastly, I found that your English has improved since the first blog entry. Keep it up.
Hi Kazu,
It must have been a tough job for you trying to communicate effectively with us as English is not your first language. I admire your determination and perseverence!
Thanks for your comments in my blog so far!
Thank you all for the comments you gave me.

"it takes two hands to clap"
I learned another new expression.
I think the problem is it is difficult for us to give advices to the target person in a direct way at a work place because it may cause emotional conflicts. Anyway, at least we can improve communication skills of our own to the desired extent.

I always try not to end up in just getting the knowledge from the classes in university.I have been a member of environmental activity society since I was freshman and that is one of my trials to put the knowledge into practice.
I think Singapore government promotes the entrepreneurship of students and NUS have lots of related activities, which is really good for them in that sense.

yes, it was tough in that I had not experienced such a long life (though only 5 month) abroad and I got depressed sometimes because I couldn't convey exactly what I want to say.But It seems I managed to get by the classes in NUS(though only 3 modules).
Again, thank you all for giving me your opinions.
